WENDEMI, THE GOOD LORD'S CHILD

WENDEMI, L'ENFANT DU BON DIEU

SAINT PIERRE YAMÉOGO

BURKINA FASO | SWITZERLAND | FRANCE / FRENCH / 1993 / 95 mins

Abandoned at birth by his unwed mother, Wendemi has lived with unanswered questions for twenty years. Now an adult and in love, he hopes to marry, but the absence of his mother and the mystery of his origins stand in his way. Determined to confront the past, he travels to the capital in search of the woman who abandoned him—the only person who can reveal the truth about his birth. His journey becomes both a physical search and an emotional reckoning, shaped by memory, longing, and the need for belonging.
