Alireza Khatami (b. 1980), worked in the film and advertising industries in Iran and Malaysia before pursuing MA in Fine Arts in the USA. His work explores memory, language, and trauma across disciplines. His feature debut OBLIVION VERSES (2017), developed with support from the Hubert Bals Fund (2011), won the Orizzonti Award for Best Screenplay, the FIPRESCI Award for Best Debut Film, and the Interfilm Award at Venice FF. With Ali Asgari, he co-directed TERRESTRIAL VERSES (2023), selected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes FF 2023 and IFFR 2024. THE THINGS YOU KILL is his 3rd feature as director.
