Set in post war Vietnam in 1985, Khang moves to Saigon after securing a job translating The Little Prince. Protected by family connections, he lives comfortably under the new regime until he meets Ky Nam, a reserved older widow in his neighborhood. Their encounter quietly unsettles his sense of stability, drawing him into an unexpected emotional journey that challenges his assumptions about love, loss, and belonging.
1985ರ ಯುದ್ಧೋತ್ತರ ವಿಯೆಟ್ನಾಂನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ ಕಥೆ. ದಿ ಲಿಟಲ್ ಪ್ರಿನ್ಸ್ ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಅನುವಾದಿಸುವ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಖಾಂಗ್ ಸೈಗಾನ್ಗೆ ವಲಸೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಗಳ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಹೊಸ ಆಡಳಿತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಅವನು ಆರಾಮದಾಯಕ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೌನಸ್ವಭಾವದ ವಯಸ್ಸಾದ ವಿಧವೆ ಕಿ ನಾಮ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾದ ಕ್ಷಣದಿಂದಲೇ ಅವನ ಸ್ಥಿರತೆಯ ಭಾವನೆ ಮೌನವಾಗಿ ಕದಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ಭೇಟಿಯು ಅವನ ಸ್ಥಿರತೆಯ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಮೌನವಾಗಿ ಕದಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಪ್ರತೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸೆಳೆದು, ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ನಷ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇರಿದ ಭಾವನೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.

Leon Le is a Vietnamese American filmmaker born in Ho Chi Minh City and based between New York City and Vietnam. Trained as a professional dancer, singer and actor, he later transitioned into filmmaking as a self taught writer and director. His filmography includes the shorts DAWN (2012) and TALKING TO MY MOTHER (2014), and the features SONG LANG (2018) and KY NAM INN. His work is marked by emotional restraint, musicality and sensitivity to memory, identity and queer experience. SONG LANG won over fifty international awards, including the Tokyo Gemstone Award at Tokyo IFF.
